Today marks the anniversary of the Battle of Adwa, a momentous victory for the black man. It is indeed a day for the African and people of African descent to assess our current situation and agree on the need for unity in development.
Here in Ghana, the current political tensions calls for renewed patriotism and a focus on national unity. The Rastafari Council, Ghana is hereby calling on all Ghanaians, regardless of political orientation to focus on national development in unity.
The Council would like to call on our political leaders to be minded of the role they play in shaping the destiny of our beloved Ghana. History will judge them by their actions and inactions.
On our part as Rastafari, we will continue to contribute our quota as well-meaning citizens. As such, the 7th National Rastafari Conference on Saturday, March 5 at Mankessim will provide a platform for continued deliberations under the theme ‘Rastafari and Politics – Opportunities for Rastafari in Ghanaian Politics.’ The Keynote Speaker is Rabbi Kohain Halevi.
Let us continue to shine as the Black Star of Africa.

Ahuma Bosco Ocansey
