Gramps Morgan, Member of Grammy Winning Jamaican Reggae Group, Morgan Heritage in a latest radio interview on Zylofon 102.1fm has mentioned that, “Rocky Dawuni’s nomination for the 58th Grammys has thrown a major spotlight on other Ghanaian Musicians.”
“Rocky Dawuni who is a good friend got nominated along with us in the Grammys. I think he has done tremendously well in achieving that. It is not an easy thing to get in there but he did it. What this means is that, the eyes of the Recording Academy (Grammys) will now be on Ghana. This also doesn’t mean that it will come easy for other Ghanaian musicians; they have to work hard and make sure they are recording the right material — especially taking into consideration, quality production, meaningful lyrics which connect to the global community among other set criteria”, Gramps highlighted.
Gramps Morgan released an earlier single titled “People Like You” — a very touching and spiritual song, a tribute to an Uncle and a legendary Producer (Bobby Digital), he lost during the severe moments of the recent global pandemic, COVID-19. The song isn’t just limited to the two iconic people but also comes across as a comforting piece of art and a symbol of appreciation for frontline workers and everybody across the world who keep making impact in the lives of others. Gramps however announced his next song release set for September 18th, titled “Runaway Bay” – drops globally across various major digital music stores.
