Rushing into marriage affected my music career – Kofi Nti admits

For those who wondered why highlife singer, Kofi Nti went on the low in the music industry, he says marriage slowed him down.

According to him, rushing into marriage was the worst decision he ever made in life.

Speaking to Kofi TV, Kofi Nti said he did not encounter problems in his marriage because his ex-wife was bad, but because he was not well-resourced for the marriage. Due to this, it was even difficult for him to adequately take care of his kids.

“It [marriage] ruined me completely. I drowned. If you’re not ripe for marriage, don’t dare. It’s not a competition. We make a lot of mistakes. I’ll never say my wife was bad, but elders say marriage is a lifetime journey. Don’t succumb to the pressure. Make sure everything is in place before you embark on the journey,” he said.

“When you’re broke, you can fend for just yourself, but when you have kids, you start to panic. It drained my energy. All my finances went low. I didn’t put things in the proper place. Everything wasn’t planned nor strategized, so my career ended,” Kofi added.

Kofi Nti is known for songs like ‘Rakia’, ‘Odo Nwom’, ‘Oh Baby’, among others.
