Ghanaian photographer Seyram 09 wins big after BBC News hired his premium service as their official Ghanaian photographer to capture some of the most iconic moments during the festive season; from Afrochella to Afronation and The Black Line Festival last year.
The pictures got the internet buzzing up and wild reactions from netizens. The iconic images were featured on their reputable news portal. Seyram 09 is one of the youngest and most premium photographers in Ghana. Seyram’s urban feel and film style of photography best describe his artistry as a top-of-the-range brand.
Early Life & Educational Background
Born Desmond Seyram Funu, Seyram 09 is an Accra-based fast-rising photographer whose colouring style and how he takes his shots with accuracy, clear-cut ideas and unexpected but thought striking angles to compliment whatever project he is shooting. He developed an interest in photography in his junior high school days when he used to take pictures with his Samsung Young 2 Pocket. He is currently pursuing IT management at UPSA. But he had his basic education at Seed and Harvest Academy, Lapaz and high Pope John Senior High and Minor Seminary School.

Career
He held the camera for the first time in senior high school. It was a hobby at the time until he bought his first camera (Canon T3) from a friend around 2019. That was when he decided to turn his hobby into a profession. He took photography seriously in 2020 and honed his skills in the art of photography during the lockdown.
Role Model
As the saying goes, “follow who knows road”. The late legendary Ghanaian documentary photographer and graphic designer Emmanuel Bobbie, better known as Bob Pixel was his biggest role model. He was the reason why Seyram 09 fell in love with art photography.
