It takes real hard work for an artist to build a lasting musical legacy.
Popular Ghanaian disc jockey and radio presenter, Bismark Boachie known in showbiz as DJ Premier has admonished two of Ghana’s dancehall icons Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy to put in measures which will ensure their legacies are kept for posterity.
According to the celebrated media man, Ghana’s high life genre has contributed immensely to global music but bad record keeping has made us lost a significant amount of our musical journey.
“Shatta, Stonebwoy…our musicians have all done well and they have to see to it, that their legacies are preserved because they sell us globally” he stated.
He further suggested that, showbiz has added value to our cultural practices and so should be given much needed attention for generations to also benefit from the works of their past heroes.
Shatta and Stone were all in the news recently for their involvement in the Asaase Sound Clash which sought to kick out Covid 19 through entertainment.
