Shatta Wale, Ghanaian Heavyweight Dancehall Superstar brought a sophisticated side of himself on a new Morgan Heritage featured song titled “Ready”, it also features Ugandan Big Icon, Jose Chameleone, as well as RJ The DJ.
Listed as Track 10 from the 21-tracked LP by the The Royal Grammys Winning Jamaican Reggae Group, Morgan Heritage, the song “Ready” typifies a modern upbeat Carnival cum International Festival Jam which passes for a Soca, Dancehall & Techno Music style — a fine strategy employed by Morgan Heritage to give the record a flawless global party sound.
Shatta Wale in his ‘Badman’ baritone voice delivers a very relatable verse with uptight lyrics yet preaching the message of peace with which (in the song) he urges everyone to come to the party. He calls out all the girls to come have a good time with him (and the Morgans/Jose/RJ) inside the carnival and was quick to caution with a message of peace that goes like…. “inna this party we nuh buss no 45 (gun), no artillery…”. Though a ‘sharp’ line in his verse it’s a deep message the Ghanaian Dancehall Icon employs to tame his fellow Shatta Movement to just have a good time in the dance and fête along with sweet ladies in the party.
“The Homeland”, a latest album by Morgan Heritage released on April 21, 2023 has a very tall list of African features among which Shatta Wale, Rocky Dawuni and Stonebwoy got featured from Ghana. The album features other well-meaning artistes from other areas as well. The LP is a globally condensed Album which has a finely-brewed production that cuts across all continents and an inclusion of, if not all genres, many global sounds. The Reggae factor wasn’t left out either. But how was Morgan Heritage able to pull all this off effortlessly? Watch the video below! Remember to stream “The Homeland” LP across all digital platforms!
