Music genius, Stonebwoy left a powerful message about the Rwanda genocide during his recentperformance and media tour to Rwanda from September 27th to 30th.
While at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the multi-award-winning musician spent some time in the “Wasted Lives” wing and was reflective at a photo wall in the “1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi” display, according to photos released on Sunday on Burniton Music Group pages. He is also seen looking solemn while visiting the memorial, which honors the victims of the Tutsi genocide.
“Let the souls who departed against their wills, in a very cruel and inhumane manner – be the very sacrifice upon which Africa will find strength to stand and defend race,” Stonebwoy wrote in the memorial’s guest book.
Stonebwoy arrived in Kigali, Rwanda on Monday (September 26th), just few days after he delivered a noteworthy and much talked about performance at the 2022 Global Citizen Festival in Accra, Ghana on Saturday (September 24th).
The Ghanaian musician was billed as the headline act for this year’s GUBA Excellence Awards on September 29, which saw the CEO of GRAMMY Awards, Mr. Harvey Mason Jr., Rwandan state officials, dignitaries, and other stakeholders in attendance. After his performance, Stonebwoy and Mr. Mason sat for a brief meeting to secure support for Ghanaian musicians to gain recognition at the GRAMMY.
Stonebwoy is currently promoting his latest single “GIDIGBA” – a song he describes as self-affirmative. The Phantom-produced record, exudes a steady groove and confidence, discusses hypocrisy among men and the importance of remaining resolute in the face of adversity.
