His musical journey has been marked by notable achievements, including a nomination for Best New Artiste at the Clarendon Music Awards in 2012, where he ultimately clinched the esteemed award, affirming his position as a promising artist within the industry.

In 2015, TheSubstance released his 10-track EP, “Spiritual Insomnia,” showcasing his versatility as both an artist and songwriter. His musical journey has been punctuated by notable achievements and a steadfast commitment to his craft. In 2012, TheSubstance earned a nomination for Best New Artiste at the Clarendon Music Awards, a significant recognition that underscored his burgeoning talent and dedication to his art.

Ultimately, he clinched the esteemed award, affirming his position as a promising artist within the industry. In November 2019, TheSubstance lost his daughter Reimarie. Reimarie, 11, of Portland Cottage in Clarendon, died last December, two months before taking the grade six ability test. Her family members are convinced that her death is dengue-related. On October 31st, 2015, TheSubstance unveiled his 10-track EP titled “Spiritual Insomnia, ” a remarkable demonstration of his versatility as both an artist and a songwriter.
