Toots And The Maytals wins “Best Reggae Album” at the 63rd GRAMMYs, over Buju Banton, Skip Marley, others

Toots and the Maytals wins Best Raggae Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

The Maytals won the award over Buju Banton, Skip Marley, Maxi Priest, and the Wailers. It marks the second Grammy win for Toots and the Maytals after they won Best Reggae Album for True Love in 2004.

The prestigious award is a fitting tribute to the band’s frontman Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert, who died last year on September 11 at the age of 77, before “Got To Be Tough” was released.  The 10-track album was also his first in 10 years.

Last year, Koffee won the Best Reggae Album award for her Rapture EP.
