I’m thrilled to share that my latest album, “African Polyglot,” is being considered for a nomination at the 2025 Grammy Awards! We’re at the beginning of a long and competitive journey. I need your support and especially Grammy Voting Members to secure a nomination. If you know any Grammy members, please encourage them to evaluate my entry in the Best Global Music Album category and support it if they believe it deserves recognition.
Here are a few reasons why this nomination would mean so much to me:
- As a Ghanaian artist, a nomination would inspire fellow Ghanaian artists and demonstrate that international recognition is within reach.
- It would expose my brand of Ghanaian music to a global audience, increasing visibility and potentially attracting new fans worldwide.
- It would provide a larger platform to advocate for causes close to my heart, such as cultural preservation and women’s empowerment.
Your support means everything to Ghana! You can listen to “African Polyglot” on all streaming channels. If you like it, please share it. Other artists from Ghana being considered for Grammy Nomination include my brothers, Rocky Dawuni, Blakk Rasta, King Promise and Black Sherif. Congratulations and good luck! Support them also!
Switzerland Tour October 2024
I’ll be supporting Dodo, a big Swiss star, TV personality and hit maker on a 10 stop tour of Switzerland this month. If you have been following my news, you will know that I collaborated with Dodo when he came over to Ghana last year on his “Youpougon” Album. Like me he is a bundle of energy on stage, so we will be doing some great shows together! You can buy tickets here:
THE CAPTAINS LAMENT INCLUDED ON CAFE AFRICA FROM PUTOMAYO
It’s an amazing feeling to have my song “The Captain’s Lament” included on this distinguished compilation of acoustic African songs curated by Putomayo World Music. It is especially poignant at this time because of the protests in Ghana about Galamsay (illegal gold mining). I wrote the song in memory of Captain Maxwell Mahama (a distant relative) who was lynched by a mob in 2017 over a small scale illegal mining dispute.
You can buy the Cafe Africa album at Bandcamp.
