British-Ghanaian disc jockey, DJ Bluey makes FIFA 22 official soundtrack

In an age awash with a continuous stream of afro-inspired sounds from Ghanaian artists in the diaspora, London-based disc jockey and producer, DJ Bluey stands out as one of the few to put his motherland’s signature black star on the premier world stage of music.

The virtuoso, who may be unbeknown to many Ghanaians back home recently made it onto the official soundtrack of renowned video game developer, EA Sports’ FIFA 22. Deployed as a playlist on Spotify before the game’s October 1st release, DJ Bluey’s ‘Wine It’ was one of the 122 hand-picked songs on the series’ newest iteration, slotting in under its ‘’FIFA 22 VOLTA Football Soundtrack’’.

‘’It’s a complete honour to be a part of EA Sports’ music experience on FIFA 2022. I was pleasantly surprised when the team from 7Wallace informed me of the placement earlier this year. When creating and mixing the track I had a computer game and movie soundtrack vibe in mind, so this is all perfect. Having the track placed on the game solidifies my belief in my style, sound and ideas, which is a massive achievement and new milestone for me’’, DJ Bluey disclosed.

EA Sports’ much-loved series has over the years been credited with elevating featured artists to a wider audience, giving the Ghanaian ace his shot to novel heights both in his home industry and beyond.

‘Wine It’ was released in 2019 under recording label 7Wallace and is available for streaming here: https://music.apple.com/gh/album/wine-it/1575019696?i=1575019697
