Herona Company Limited, a recognized supplier of medical equipment and pharmaceutical products and Media General’s 3Foundation on Tuesday 31st March 2020 donated medical equipment and devices to the 37 Military Hospital. The donation by the two organizations was in response to the ongoing crisis around the world and in Ghana as a result of the Covid -19 pandemic.
According to the Director of Herona Company Limited, Maj. Christine Oko (Rtd), “we are doing this to support the 37 Military Hospital as it prepares to play its critical role in the Covid – 19 management efforts being rolled out by the Government of Ghana. These items are to help in the care of patients and also to protect the frontline staff who will be on call to manage such cases”.
The Group Head of Corporate Affairs of Media General, Chris Koney reiterated 3Foundation’s commitment to enriching lives and empowering Ghanaians across the country with interventions in health, education and community development. “We are in unusual times at the moment and as a leading Media Company, it is important to contribute our quota to efforts by the government to ensure that Covid – 19 is contained. That is the motivation for 3Foundation’s partnership with Herona Company Limited today to present these items”, he added.
The items donated included disposable gowns with face masks, shoe covers, caps, infusion stands, stool and urine containers, patient monitors, suction machine, electronic spraying machines, nebulizers for asthmatics, stretcher beds ward screens, vaginal speculums, Sphygmomanometers (Reister) and many others worth over GHC300,000.
