About Akua Music:
Akua Music is a Ghanaian Afro Artist. Born in Manchester and raised in London, from an early age, she discovered her love for music after joining the children’s church choir at 8 years old.
From singing and performing at shows, to writing her own material, she later released her debut single ‘Wo Do Me’ in 2015. Since then, she has proven to be the one to watch. With many other singles following on from this, Promise to You, Motion and Connection we see the versatility and uniqueness of her sound.
This Ghanaian songstress does not shy away from her culture; “My parents are from Ghana, I was born in Manchester, and raised in London, but Ghana is home. I am proud of where I come from – there is so much culture that I have to share.”
Her sultry vocals are a unique blend of soulful yet traditional vibes, where Afrobeats meets R&B. Her influences stemming from Tiwa Savage, and Gyakie, we see the rhythmic and melodic mastery in her music.
Akua’s musical gift stretches far beyond her effortless vocal ability – she is also a songwriter, and is breaking barriers, setting the bar, and making a cultural impact.
