All-African Women Poetry Festival stages from May 25th-28th

th May 2023 – Tuniq Africa is excited to announce the launch of the All-African Women Poetry Festival, a groundbreaking event that aims to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of African women through the art of poetry. In partnership with the KGL Foundation and the Poetry Association of Ghana, the festival will bring together 10 poets from across the continent to showcase their works and engage with audiences from all over the world.

The festival is scheduled to take place from 25th May to 28th May at the Art Africa Gallery, British Council, and the Dikan Center in Accra, Ghana. It is a week-long celebration of African literature, culture, and diversity, featuring an exciting lineup of events such as poetry readings, book launches, panel discussions, workshops, and performances by both renowned and budding African poets.

Founder of Tuniq Africa, Emma Ofosua, explains that the festival provides an opportunity to open up dialogues on important issues while rewriting the African narrative that women aspire to. The festival aims to define who African women are and who they desire to be as a people. It also hopes to inspire a new generation of poets to take up the art for a cause that interrogates social, mental, and women’s health issues.

The All African Women Poetry Festival is a platform for the female poet, showcase their literary skills and celebrate their rich cultural heritage. The festival invites all poetry enthusiasts and literary art lovers to attend for an unforgettable experience.
