Dancehall artistes we helped with our platforms yesterday are disrespecting us today — Kojo Kombolo

If there’s any Ghanaian artiste who has single-handedly raised platforms in the slums to play gigs and empower rising/colleague Reggae/Dancehall artistes, the name Kojo Kombolo comes across as a face who championed that. He gave opportunity to many young youths with his multiple shows and even groomed some of them.

“Young Dada” he calls himself is quite surprised that artistes he helped launch their careers back in the early 2000s today have outgrown themselves and ‘disrespecting the order’.

In a subtle jab commentary the passed on social media, one could feel the rage in his post yet tried to keep it diplomatic. Below was what he posted on his Facebook page.

He also fired a subliminal shot which seems to be an indirect shot at Mr. Logic who was on radio putting his own camp artistes above every other Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall artiste. Below was what Mr. Logic said on King Lagazee’s show on Hitz 103.9fm:

Kojo Kombolo isn’t the only Reggae/Dancehall Veteran who has raised these concerns. The likes of Samini, Kwame Partan, Konkarah, Black Prophet, Redwan, Osagyefo, among others raised similar concerns.

Kojo Kombolo is a traveled Conscious/Revolutionary Musician who has been influencing the youths through the power of his music across varied circles from consciousness to agriculture, from philosophy to ancient tradition and history, just to name a few. He hints of an upcoming album soon though. Be in the look out for it.
