Ghana Counts down Premiere of the Epic Animation ’28th the Crossroad’

28th the crossroads is an animation film that is set in Gold Coast (present day ghana) in February 1948. The film recreates the events leading to the crossroad shooting of 2nd World War veterans in Osu, Accra in the Gold Coast.

The animation as first of its kind will premier in cinema on February 28, 2022; set after the date of the event the animation is recreating.

The animation intricately weaves around the lives of 3 war veterans, Sergeant Adjetey, Corporal Attipoe and Private Lamptey. It tells the story of how their expectations of coming back home to a life of honour and respect for having fought for the British empire in the war was dashed when they walked into a life of failed promises and despair.

Tired of bottling up their frustration and disappointment, the 3 war veterans and dozens of their colleagues finally decided to make known their frustrations to the government of the day in a planned peaceful demonstration. Events, however took a different turn and what ensued would change the nation’s history forever.
