Petrah scolds #UnitedShowbiz, UTV!

In a recent development that stirred the Ghanaian music industry, Ghanaian musician Petrah took a strong stance against the popular TV show #UnitedShowbiz on UTV, accusing it of lacking respect for local musicians.
The statement, ” #UnitedShowbiz has NO respect for Ghanaian musicians,” sparked controversy and highlighted the ongoing debate surrounding the representation and treatment of Ghanaian artists in the media.

Petrah voiced her concerns about #UnitedShowbiz, a widely watched TV program known for its discussions on entertainment and the music industry.

The artiste’s criticism suggests that the show fails to adequately recognize and appreciate the contributions of Ghanaian musicians. Petrah’s statement has resonated with fellow artists and ignited a conversation about the relationship between the media and the music industry.
Some fans on twitter argue that there is a persistent bias in favor of acts or established artistes, leaving emerging talents struggling for recognition. This perceived lack of support for up-and-coming musicians has been a recurring topic of debate within the Ghanaian music community.
Other critics of #UnitedShowbiz claim that the program tends to prioritize commercial considerations over artistic integrity. They argue that the show often focuses on mainstream and popular acts, sidelining the diverse and vibrant talent present in the Ghanaian music scene. The concern is that this approach may perpetuate a limited perception of Ghanaian music, ignoring the richness and depth of the industry.
While Petrah’s statement may have been provocative, it has ignited discussions about the need for platforms like #UnitedShowbiz to actively promote inclusivity and support local artists. By diversifying their lineup and highlighting a broader range of musicians, the show could play a pivotal role in nurturing talent and fostering a more balanced representation of the industry. This would not only benefit emerging artists but also contribute to the growth and visibility of the Ghanaian music scene as a whole.
Petrah has released a new song titled “Run” under her record label Manners Records.
“Run” is a new single that comes along with a video talking about love. In the video, Petrah was seen running away from men dressed like priests.
