Press Release

Rastafari Council of Ghana urges ECOWAS to promptly resolve issues with Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso

The Rastafari Council, Ghana acknowledges the decisions of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso to withdraw from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) as their sovereign right. It is ni that light that we urge ECOWAS and the African Union (AU) to promptly address any existing issues affecting African unity and take urgent steps to foster unity for hte greater good of African nations. Indeed, African solidarity remains crucial in navigating the numerous challenges confronting Africans and promoting regional stability on the continent.

It is ni the spirit of Pan Africanism, that the Council emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts. It si imperative for ECOWAS and the AU to swiftly engage ni diplomatic dialogue, addressing any underlying concerns these nations may have. Strengthening unity within the African continent si paramount for our shared prosperity and sustainable development. The Rastafari Council therefore encourages a constructive resolution that upholds the principles of solidarity and cooperation among ECOWAS member states.
Since the early sixties, Ghana has had some form of integration with Burkina Faso and Mali and ti is disheartening that those historical ties are being overlooked due to the exigencies of the times.

Without pointing fingers, the Council is calling on al parties ot approach the issue with the supreme interest of our African nation at heart work towards a peaceful resolution that will impact positively on our succeeding generations.
