Rocky Dawuni to perform at World Peace Music Festival on August 13th in Los Angeles

Ghana’s Rocky Dawuni will be live and direct at the World Peace Music Festival in historic Leimert Park, Los Angeles on Friday, August 13 at 5pmsharp. The FREE all ages community festival is an inauguaral event to raise awareness and support for the Open Arms Food Pantry and Resource Center.

 

Other artists peforming on the bill include the incredible Jason Tamba of Playing for Change and Empress Akua amongst many others for the two day event August 13 and 14, 2021. http://www.worldpeacemusicfest.org

The GRAMMY nominated musician and activist will be peforming live with his full 11 piece all star band celebrating his most recent release “Voice of Bunbon, Vol. 1which is receiving wonderful response around the world. “The new eight-track collection, betraying rich charm and prompt truths, honours the northern town he hails from. It emerged from a desire to create music that is deeply rooted in Ghanaian culture yet packaged to appeal to the world.”Music In Africa

Two videos have been released for EP – the first Ghost Town shot in Los Angeles, CA by director Casey Bridges (son of legendary actor Beau Bridges) which is a poignant tribute to recent global events as well as Beautiful People” which was shot by rising Ghanaian director and cinematographer Slinghot in Rocky’s home village of Bunbon, Ghana which explores how “a deep sense of appreciation and gratitude can shift our gaze to recognizing our personal and communal power.”
