Sizzla announced Headline Artiste for Essence of Reggae Music Festival 2024

As the month-long celebration of reggae approaches, enthusiasts of the genre eagerly anticipate a series of live concerts, notably the highly-anticipated “Essence of Reggae Music Festival” scheduled for Saturday, February 3, at the Police Officers Club in Kingston.

Conceptualized by the accomplished music producer, artiste manager, and businessman Comar “Frankie” Campbell of Frankie Music, the festival, now in its third staging, aims to provide a platform to uplift reggae-dancehall music and celebrate the unique qualities of Jamaican genres. The carefully curated lineup for this year features a myriad of talents with whom the GRAMMY Award-winning producer has collaborated and admired over the years. In a well-organized and strategically executed campaign, iconic reggae singer Sizzla Kalonji has been unveiled as the first of several top acts headlining the 2024 showcase.

Speaking with Prism Marketing Consultants, Frankie emphasized that more big names will be revealed as the event draws closer. “Presently, we are finalizing plans to ensure that everything goes smoothly. As for this year’s featured acts, we will be rolling out a few more big names in the days ahead, starting with Sizzla Kalonji.”

Last year’s edition featured performances from BugleTanya StephensLaa LeeVoicemailDuane Stephenson, and disc jock Kurt Riley, among others. However, Frankie assures an even more impressive array of artists this year, aiming to elevate the festival’s standard with each staging.

“This year, we’re adding more prominent acts to the roster because it’s about growth. People expect something bigger and better with each staging, and we intend to oblige,” remarked the Frankie Music chief.

Distinguishing itself from previous editions, this year’s festival will incorporate workshops during the day, running from 12 – 6 pm. These workshops will feature various speakers and facets of entertainment, including Artiste Development, Business Management, Public Relations, Social Media Marketing, Booking, and Deejaying. The concert will commence at 8 pm.

Frankie explained the rationale behind this addition: “Music education is a major focus this year. We have decided to include this workshop to create more movement and structure for industry players. It is not only about educating the various players but also about networking and building relationships that will ultimately benefit the industry as a collective.”

The Essence of Music Festival has received official endorsement from the Ministry of Culture and Entertainment, solidifying its position as one of the premium offerings on Brand Jamaica’s social calendar. Tickets for the festival will be available soon via Avery’s Beauty Concepts on Molynes Road and online (outlet to be announced soon). Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early for a day of exceptional entertainment.
