Volta Floods: Edem joins delegation to donate to communities affected by Akosombo Dam Spillage

Ghanaian musician Denning Edem Hotor known in showbiz circles as Edem Gogetem through his Gogetem foundation and his able friends have donated some items to the communities affected by the Akosombo Dam Spillage.

The leader of the delegation for this timely donation was renowned businessman Francis Kofi Kpolu with support from respected Lawyer, Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe and Edem.

The delegation donated items such as Cement bags, Mosquito nets, food stuff and other relief products to the traditional leaders and the member of parliament.

Musician Edem was very emotional after his visit to the affected areas and stated that the situation was worse than it seemed online.

Edem Said:

“When I saw the videos online, I knew that my people were in trouble but after my visit I realized that my people are in danger”.

He continued by saying:

“I could not control my emotions when I saw how homes have been destroyed, people’s businesses wiped out entirely and the most painful part was the lack of electricity because the electrical wires were in the water.”

Edem in a more tearful post wrote on his social media post wrote:

“PLEASE WE NEED HELP

Edem was very grateful to renowned businessman Francis Kofi Kpolu and respected Lawyer, Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe and also Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for their immense support to the affected communities.

Edem finally disclosed that due to the challenges in the region, his annual festival, EdemFest will be a free concert instead of a paid one.

The head of VRMG events Bernard Dziwornu gave details of the event as; “it will be happening at Ho sports stadium on the 18th of November”.

Edem’s assistant road manager Richard Hude added that the reason for the free concert is also to help put smiles on the faces of the people in the region:

“We are in trying times, but we can also do with some upliftment hence the free concert just to put smiles on the faces of the people in the region.
