TENNIS: Naomi Osaka wins 2020 U.S Open Title

Japanese fourth seed Osaka, 22, won 1-6 6-3 6-3 for her second US Open title after being in danger of trailing 3-0 in the second but then won 10 of the next 12 games to seize the momentum.

Naomi Osaka demonstrated her growing maturity to fight back against Victoria Azarenka in a compelling US Open final and claim her third Grand Slam title.

Osaka who slowly against Azarenka, gradually found her range and became the first player in 26 years to win a U.S. Open women’s singles final after losing the first set.

She wore seven masks with different names for each of her matches to honor Black victims of violence. She said it motivated her.

Azarenka did everything in her arsenal to save the game for herself but it was too late.

She hit the net while battling to save a championship point and Osaka went on to celebrate her second US Open title victory.
